UNLEASHING THE POWER OF YOUR ENGINE |

When a customer asked to use a specific engine for its light tower, but wanted constant voltage output, Mecc Alte teamed up with Governors America Corp to ensure big results from a small footprint.
Using a Perkins 400 Series 3 cylinder 403F-15 engine, combined with a Mecc Alte PMG5 permanent magnet generator (PMG) controlled by the MEC 12-75 VDC, powered by GAC, provided significant benefits as an alternative to traditional alternator systems. PMG alternators are highly reliable and use only the amount of energy needed for a specific task to provide stable output voltage. Permanent magnets on the stator frame provide the magnetic fields that interact with the rotor field to produce torque, eliminating the need to power the stator, reducing electrical energy consumption. The downside is when using a magnetic field to generate voltage, output voltage decreases as load increases.
This is where the MEC 12-75 VDC, powered by GAC comes in. When the MEC 12-75 VDC Speed Load Controller is added to a PMG system the controller adjusts engine RPM to maintain constant output voltage through load rage adjustments. |

The MEC 12-75 VDC, when connected to a proportional actuator and supplied with voltage signal from a DC generator, adjusts engine speed to maintain constant voltage. This variable speed operation results in decreased noise, significantly reduces fuel consumption and increases engine life. |
