ACTUATORS READY FOR PACKAGING
Application of the Month: MAN D2842 LE201 ENGINE
This Soilmec 7T800 pump uses a 21.93L diesel MAN D2842 LE 201 engine to power this 614 liter/min workhorse.
The engine is equipped with a GAC ACE275HD actuator (MAN PN 51.11610.6028) with heavy duty bearings to provide the strength and durability this application needs. The GAC ESD5330 works with our RSC671 controller to ensure precise control.
SOILMEC 7T800, with MAN D2842 LE 201 using a ESD5330 with RSC671 and ACE275HD-24 Mounted on a Diesel Pump
The ESD5330 speed control unit is designed to precisely control engine speed and provide fast precise response to transient engine loads.
The RSC671 Ramped Speed Control module provides full time, linear, electronic variable speed control.
ACE275HD provides optimum performance for in-line pumps.
Tip of the Month : How do I know if my speed sensor is working?
The output voltage of a magnetic pickup is affected by three factors.
Output voltage increases with increases in the surface speed of the flywheel teeth.
Voltage decreases as the air gap between the magnetic pickup and the flywheel teeth increases. (The optimum air gap is typically 0.020” to 0.025” {0.5 to 0.65mm})
The voltage waveform is determined by the size and shape of the gear tooth in relation to the size and shape of the sensors pole piece.
If you suspect the magnetic pickup is not functioning properly measure its resistance by disconnecting the pickup leads and check the sensors with an ohmmeter: (refer to manufacturer’s specifications for acceptable values)
Measure between the pickup case and leads with an ohmmeter for near-infinite resistance.
Confirm there are no open circuits, including the wiring harness and all connectors.
Inspect the sensor for mechanical damage and remove any debris that might have accumulated on the pole piece.
Reset the air gap to 0.020” to 0.025” (0.5 to 0.65mm) and confirm that the sensor outputs a minimum of 1.0 VAC during cranking across the inputs to the speed control.
